We are inviting young people aged 13–18 to take part in new research

March 24, 2026

We’re inviting young people aged 13–18 across the UK who may be feeling a bit low or not enjoying things as much as they used to, to take part in an online research study called Unlock Wellbeing.

The study is designed to help young people learn practical, evidence-based ways to improve their mood and wellbeing and to help us understand what works best for young people in the UK.

What does participation involve? 💻

  • Completing a short set of questions about mood and well-being
  • Taking part in a 15–20 minute online session using psychological tools to support mood
  • Creating a personal plan to try out these ideas in daily life
  • Answering follow‑up questions straight after, and again at 1 month and 6 months

Everything is done online, on any device, in a private and comfortable space. No conversations or appointments are required.

As a thank you:

  • £10 voucher for completing the 1-month follow-up
  • £5 voucher for completing the 6-month follow-up

We only collect limited personal information so we can send reminders and vouchers.

This study has been reviewed and approved by the University of Bath Biomedical Sciences Research Ethics Committee (ref: 13717‑15989).
