Bath MHRG Welcomes Swindon MP, Will Stone for Discussion on Youth Mental Health.

February 4, 2026

We were pleased to welcome Will Stone, MP for Swindon, to the University of Bath’s Department of Psychology, where we had the opportunity to highlight the work of the Bath Mental Health Research Group (MHRG).

Pamela Jacobsen, Director of Bath MHRG, provided an overview of the group’s aims and research priorities. Jeffrey Lambert, who leads our digital mental health strand, shared insights from his work on the benefits of exercise and taking breaks from social media to support wellbeing.

The discussion also covered emerging concerns around young people’s drug use in the region. Christopher Pudney outlined his research on vape testing and the implications for youth health. To close the session, Harriet Rose explored opportunities for collaboration with organisations and communities in Swindon, to understand the specific needs of young people living in the area.
